Composition
Each ml contains:
Phenylbutazone: 200mg
Dexamethasone (as sodium phosphate): 0.38 mg
Excipient: Q.S.P. 100 ml
Mechanism of Action
Dexamethasone: A member of the glucocorticoid family, it exerts pharmacologic effects on all body cells. It provides powerful immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory actions by inhibiting lytic enzymes released during inflammation and severe stress, while also decreasing macrophage phagocytosis.
Phenylbutazone: An NSAID that inhibits prostaglandin inflammatory effects which cause pain and fever. It interferes in the early stages of inflammation, reducing vascular bed permeability to prevent edema and diapedesis. The combination provides predominant anti-inflammatory and pain relief results.
Indications of Use
Used as an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic agent. Specifically indicated for musculoskeletal inflammations such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, laminitis, and tendonitis in horses.
