Veterinary Injectable Phenylbutazone 20% Dexamethasone Injection for Horses, 100ml

Composition (Each ml contains):

Phenylbutazone: 200mg
Dexamethasone (as sodium phosphate): 0.38 mg
Excipient: Q.S.P. 100 ml

⚙️Mechanism of Action:

Dexamethasone is a member of the glucocorticoid family, providing immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory actions. It inhibits lytic enzymes released during inflammation and stress, decreasing phagocytosis by macrophages.

Phenylbutazone belongs to the NSAIDs group. It inhibits prostaglandin effects that cause pain, fever, and inflammation. It reduces vascular permeability, preventing edema and diapedesis during the early stages of inflammation.

The combination of these two active ingredients ensures predominant anti-inflammatory and pain relief effects.

📍Indications of Use:

Anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic. Effective for musculoskeletal inflammations such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, laminitis, and tendonitis in horses.

💉Dosage and Administration:

Horses	20 ml/day by slow IV injection; can be repeated depending on severity.
Foals	Slow IV or deep IM: 6 - 10 ml, repeated 24 - 48 hours later depending on severity.

⚠️Contraindications & Precautions:

Contraindicated in animals with heart, liver, or kidney problems, or in late-term pregnancy.
In case of vascular brittle and congestion, decrease the recommended dose.
Withdrawal Time: None.
Once opened, the remaining medicine can be used for up to 28 days.
Do not use concomitantly with other NSAIDs or corticosteroid drugs.
IV injection must be administered slowly.
Keep out of reach of children.
